Sonic 3 Post-Credits: How Many End-Credits Scenes Are There?

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 debuts in U.S. theaters today, and there is a lot of interest about whether the sequel has any mid, end, or post-credits scenes. In franchise filmmaking, these scenes are generally utilized to tease future storylines and they have appeared in the Sonic film series in the past, hinting at the story’s potential continuation.

Sonic 3 post-credits scenes total revealed

There is a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, indicating that the story might continue in multiple branches. This makes sense given that the Sonic movie series is incredibly successful, and even after a full trilogy, the fans will probably want more of these characters. Further, the movies are adaptations of the extensive game series, so, the story can continue for as long as the fans are interested in it.

What happens in Sonic the Hedgehog 3’s end-credits scenes?

In the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 mid-credits scene, Sonic (Ben Schwartz) prepares to race Knuckles (Idris Elba) and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) after successfully putting a stop to Doctor Gerald Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and Shadow the Hedgehog’s (Keanu Reeves) plans of world destruction. However, Sonic soon finds himself in New York State Park at night and realizes that he might have underestimated his own abilities. Soon, a group of cyborg hedgehogs attacks him, but he is ultimately saved by a mysterious pink female hedgehog with a futuristic hammer.

These cyborgs are Metal Sonic, whereas the pink female hedgehog is Amy Rose. On Thursday, December 19, Sonic 4 officially went into development with a release date window of early 2027. Considering that both Metal Sonic and Amy Rose have appeared in the mid-credits scene of the third movie, they will probably return along with other cast members in the fourth.

In the post-credits scene in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Shadow, who earlier seemingly sacrificed himself to save Earth, is revealed to be alive. As the movie draws to a close, he picks up his inhibitor ring. This scene ensures that Shadow will remain a part of the plot of the Sonic franchise on the big screen and opens doors to the prospects of a Shadow movie.
