Hasbro Releases First Look at Marvel Legends’ Spider-Boy Figure

He’s young, he’s a hero, and he’s the sidekick that Spider-Man never knew he had. He is Spider-Boy. And he’s the latest addition to the Marvel Legends action figure line-up, produced by Hasbro.

The first photo of the figure was released on the social media of Spider-Boy co-creator Dan Slott. The writer teased a big announcement earlier in the day, before posting the picture. The photo shows the young hero in mid-leap, with his hands in the classic Spider-Man position.

First appearing in 2023’s Spider-Man #7, Spider-Boy is a recent addition to the Spider-Man mythology. Kidnapped by a mad scientist, ten-year-old Bailey Briggs was one of several people who were infused with animal DNA. This gave Bailey a number of spider-related powers, including wall-crawling and enhanced physiology. However, he also has several abilities Spider-Man doesn’t, like the ability to talk to spiders and a venomous bite. He also has a slightly different Spider-Sense, which warns him when other people are about to be put in danger.

The concept for Spider-Boy was born of two different ideas. First, Slott proposed a preteen sidekick for Peter Parker, knowing this was a ridiculous idea for someone so responsible. Slott also envisioned a Spider-family member whose existence had been forgotten by the world at large. Both concepts were eventually employed in Bailey Briggs’ background.

No release date has been announced for the Spider-Boy Marvel Legends figure. Slott assures his followers that it will hit shelves “very soon.” This suggests that Bailey Briggs will be part of the next wave.
