Who’s the best movie Spider-Man? There’s a winner not just by a longshot… but by Miles. Young Mr. Morales, as seen most recently in Across the Spider-Verse, has faced down virtually every Spider-Man in the multiverse, and even all of them at once, only to keep surviving and universe-hopping toward a much-anticipated threequel.
Does Whatever a Cartoon Spider Can
Until he gets there, Mezco has immortalized the latest animated incarnation of Miles as part of the highly detailed One: 12 Collective. They haven’t taken any creative license to make him more realistic — this Miles Morales is very much in the animated style. Oftentimes, that means less detail and cleaner sculpting, but the Spider-Verse animation is detailed to a fault, and so is this figure based upon it.
Here’s the official description: “The One:12 Collective Miles Morales wears a fitted bodysuit with web pattern detailing and his own Spider-Man insignia on his chest. He comes complete with four interchangeable head portraits with varying expressions including a fully unmasked Miles Morales portrait, and a Spider-Sense FX that attaches to his posing post. Miles is equipped with multiple web lines that attach to wrists as the super hero swings through the multiverse alongside his fellow heroes.”
With a slimmer, trimmer body and fewer accessories than some, Miles runs on the cheaper end of Mezco’s One: 12 figures at $85. Payment plans are available, with a $21.25 nonrefundable deposit. Expect the figure to ship at the end of the year, but don’t count on holiday gift-season timing, as this tends to be an inexact science.
With a voice cast that includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Brian Tyree Henry as Jeff Morales, Lauren Vélez as Rio Morales, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, and Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently streaming on Netflix.
