Battle-Damaged Batfleck Gets a Hot Toys Makeover

With Mother’s Day about a month away, it seems like the right time for Hot Toys to unveil their improved, upgraded Armored Batman version 2.0. Or rather, two versions of him. The man fans call “Batfleck” can look beaten up, or fresh and angry, as he wonders why his fallen foe would dare utter the name of “Martha”…or why Geoff Johns thought that was such a brilliant story idea.

Tell Me… Do You Bleed (Money)?

From the title battle of Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Armored Batman features a design inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, in which the heroes tried to beat each other to death the first time. Superman won the fight in the comics but agreed to a subsequent truce in secret. In the movie, a common mother’s name saves the day, and Superman subsequently dies fighting beside Batman. And then he came back in two different versions of the same movie. It got complicated.

What’s not complicated is that this figure features an all-new and improved body from Hot Toys’ last version, with new sculpting and weathering on the armor, which features diecast parts. The deluxe version includes battle-damaged armor pieces, including an extra head and torn cape, along with a diorama base and light-up Kryptonite spear. It’s $70 more than the more basic version which costs $300; honestly, at those numbers, why not spring for the extra base?

Both figures include “a newly developed diecast armored head with LED light-up eyes and three interchangeable lower faces capturing Ben Affleck’s facial expressions, meticulously crafted battle suit with improved paint application and weathering effects; a selection of armors in diecast materials; brand new redesigned, highly detailed body with enhanced articulation; detailed grapple gun and grenade gun.” The non-deluxe includes a simpler base with an LED light-up function and a BvS movie logo.

Take a look through the images below to decide which one you need, if any, or if merely looking on in appreciation is all the ol’ budget can take.
