In the grand saga of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth movies, The Lord of the Rings‘ Legolas is the MVP, appearing in most of them. Whether epitomizing cool, sliding down an elephant while expertly firing off arrows, or stuck in gratuitously showy effects like the falling rock platform game shtick in the Battle of the Five Armies, he’s always a memorable badass. And even more so because he never ever tries to look like one. With his long blond hair and willowy features, he’s the opposite of most traditional male machismo visuals, and yet he’d almost certainly beat you in a fight. Like Johnny Cash’s Boy Named Sue, perhaps he has to be extra tough to appear the way he does.

The eternal Elf, as portrayed by Orlando Bloom, is getting new representation in a PVC diorama statue by Diamond Select, and we’re pleased to debut the very first images right here. Once again, he’s quite the looker.
From the press release:
“A Diamond Select Toys release! The Fellowship’s resident archer and intrepid elf is now the latest Gallery Diorama from DST! With his deadly bow drawn, Legolas stands approximately 10 inches tall and features detailed sculpting and paint applications. Made from high-quality PVC, it comes packaged in a full-color window box. Designed by Barry Bradfield, sculpted by Jorge Santos Souza!”
Cost for the diorama will be $80, with pre-orders opening Feb. 23 at Diamondselecttoys.com. Expect them to ship sometime later in the fall. You won’t just have his bow; you’ll have his everything, including a simulated rock base, at your back when trouble arises.
Take a look through the official images to note the excellent face sculpt and levels of detail around his costume and pose. Cupid may have some competition here as the fictional archer who inspires the most love. Then decide for yourself if this version needs to be yours.
