Copper Kidd and His Space Racer Join Super7 SilverHawks Ultimates

Go Space Racer! Go Space Racer! Go Space Racer, go! Okay, wrong cartoon, but an animated kid on a souped-up vehicle is one of those classic tropes we can’t seem to get enough of. Thus, Super7‘s latest SilverHawks Ultimates wave is just two items: Copper Kidd and his Space Racer vehicle. They’re sold together or separately, but you can buy them together to get an exclusive winking head for Copper Kidd and a Screaming Blaster with removable scream effect for the vehicle.

Mime’s the Word

The youngest of the SilverHawks, Copper Kidd is also the only non-human member of the team. Hailing from a planet of Mimes, he uses tones and gestures to communicate rather than spoken language. But as he’s a genius with heightened reflexes, the rest of the team can put up with that. He’s smaller than the others, but the figure costs the same, at $55. Like his partners, he includes multiple heads, hands, blast effects, alternate wings-out arms, and two versions of his robot bird sidekick, Mayday.

Now, brace yourselves — the Space Racer costs $150. Yes, for a single-seater vehicle for 7-inch figures. Keep in mind it’s not mass-produced but made to order. It includes a display stand, blasters, blast effects, rolling wheels, and painted details.

No doubt some fans, having seen the vac-metalized repaints of prior figures, might consider holding out for a future figure variant, but that’s a dangerous game. Super7 has canceled figures due to lack of interest before (Bye, Guinan!), and if Copper Kidd sales don’t meet projections, there’s no way they’ll do a repaint, let alone the first run. If you want to be sure to get him, this might be the only shot.

Still not sure? Feast your eyes on the official images provided by Super7, and maybe you’ll speed to a decision.
