Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Mutant Figures Coming Soon

Now that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem trailer has revealed which non-Turtle mutants will appear, Playmates is ready to show off its tie-in toys. On June 25th, five new takes on classic mutant characters will hit stores. These Mutant Mayhem figures include four foes and one great mentor.

A Not-So Dirty Rat

Master Splinter, voiced by Jackie Chan, looks shorter-haired than in previous incarnations. And his new outfit’s a hybrid between eastern and western influences. Could there be a surprise weapon in his cane?

Bug the Police

Ice Cube provides the voice of big bad Superfly, a more terrifying riff on previous mutant forms of Baxter Stockman (Giancarlo Esposito). The mad scientist is almost certainly behind his creation, who dislikes the police just as much as his performer famously once did.

Near-Sighted and Unseen

Rhinos famously charge because they can’t see well. Rocksteady voice actor John Cena infamously cannot be seen, so it’s a good match. It’s also mildly ironic, since former Cena ring rival Sheamus played the character in live-action the last time the TMNT hit the big screen.

Producer’s Privilege

Seth Rogen could have cast himself as anybody in the movie, and he chose a mutant pig. Not too big a stretch from his Pumba in The Lion King, perhaps.

Gator-Flipped

Leatherhead’s a little different this time around, with Rose Byrne providing the voice. Presumably that makes the gun-totin’ gator female this time, though we’ll have to see the movie to be sure.

Per Playmates, “The fully articulated and poseable new TMNT figures stand from 4-5” tall, each come with their iconic weapons plus a separate rack of weapons and accessories.” The Mutant Mayhem figures are an astonishingly cheap $9.99 each.

Will you pick up any of these mutants in two weeks’ time?
