The Cantina Band Lead Hasbro’s Star Wars Day 2022 Reveals

Good news: Star Wars figure prices will stay at $24.99 for Black Series, $14.99 for Vintage Collection, at least through next spring. The way figure prices have been going up lately, that’s a relief. Deluxe figures, on the other hand — well, we’re getting one that’s a whopping $38.99. But in general, there’s something to like for everyone in Hasbro‘s Star Wars Day 2022 reveals.

Most notable will be the 6-inch scale cantina band, Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes. Longtime toy collectors know the band members look pretty much identical, so Hasbro and other companies typically release multiples of the same figure. In this case, they’ve done two. Figrin D’an, regularly priced, comes with all the band’s wind instruments, while Nalan Cheel comes as a deluxe figure with all the rest, and different hands to hold them. He’s the $38.99 one. The band features seven members, so to build the group will take six Figrin figures and one Nalan. Other Black Series figures include a Republic Security Droid from The Mandalorian, and Leia in Ewok village attire.

The Vintage Collection 3-3/4 inch figures revealed two new video game based Stormtroopers, as well as multiple new Clones, including a four-pack. Mandalorian ranks get bolstered with “Mauldalorian” Supercommandos, and Padawan Anakin Skywalker brings the fight. In the same scale, a retro-style box set of six Kenner-design figures will debut at Disney Parks before showing up online for $68.99

For role play, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series launches new replicas of Darth Vader’s helmet, in a three-piece redesign, and Kenobi’s lightsaber. Two upcoming Black Series figures also got teased but not shown: the HK-87 assassin droid seen in “The Jedi” episode of The Mandalorian, and digitally facelifted younger Luke from that same era.
