Hot Toys Kicks off Attack of the Clones 20th Anniversary With 5 Figures

A single Hot Toys Star Wars figure can feel like a budget buster for many casual buyers. So what about five? For Star Wars Day 2022, collectors get multiple options. It’s roughly the 20th anniversary of Episode II: Attack of the Clones. And although that movie tends to rank low on lists of favorite Star Wars movies, its designs have become faves thanks to The Clone Wars animated series and all the Expanded Universe content subsequently set in that era. Hot Toys’ Attack of the Clones 20th anniversary line features special Kenner-style retro packaging, as well as upgrades on a few favorites: R2-D2, C-3PO, Battle Droid, Clonetrooper, and Clone Pilot.

The R2-D2 looks a veritable Swiss army knife when fully put together. He features pretty much every pop-out accessory you’ve ever seen on an astromech, including side thruster jets. He also includes a tether cable to pull C-3PO’s head. That’s included too. Threepio features diecast material and LED light up eyes, as well as a swap-out Battle Droid head and blaster. For once he can defend himself…whether he will remains quite another matter.

For the sake of fans who may not necessarily buy them all, the Battle Droid also includes a Threepio head for switch-out displays. Reddish in color to match the Geonosis factory, this army builder can fold up into deployment position, and strike any other fully articulated pose with binoculars and blaster. As for the two Clones, they come with their own bonus heads. Change the basic Clonetrooper from Episode II to Episode III with a quick helmet switch. Or adjust the Clone Pilot with an alternate head based on The Clone Wars cartoon.

Preorders are up already at Sideshow’s website. In the meantime, enjoy over 80 images in our gallery below. Which is your favorite? Let us know in comments.
