Star Wars Auction Puts 1977 Darth Vader Promo Costume on the Line

Have you ever wanted to wear Darth Vader’s costume and get on board the Death Star? Well, it might take a while before a galactic superweapon like that flies in outer space. In the meantime, there’s a  chance to score a 1977 Darth Vader Promotional Touring Costume in the Prop Store auction that will go down on Wednesday, Aug. 26, and Thursday, 27. In just a few days, Prop Store will open bids on the outfit used in the promotion of 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. The Sith Lord’s suit is estimated to sell between $150,000 – 250,000.

Besides Darth Vader’s costume, fans will also be able to get their hands on several items of film memorabilia from the Star Wars Universe. Fans can take home also a Stormtrooper Helmet and a Key Chess Piece Armature from A New Hope. There will also be a Luke and Han on Tauntaun Puppet Armature, a Duros Alien Mask, and a Chief Ugnaught Alien Mask from The Empire Strikes Back, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Dueling Lightsaber Hilt from Attack of the Clones, a Stormtrooper Costume from The Mandalorian, and much more.

Star Wars Live Streaming Showcase will take place on Prop Store’s social-media channels at 11 am PDT on Thursday, Aug. 13.

“We’re thrilled to continue our tradition of offering quality Star Wars lots with the original 1977 touring Darth Vader costume in this auction,” commented Brandon Alinger, Prop Store COO, in a press release.

Fans can already register on the website to submit their online proxy bids from anywhere in the world. They can also submit their bids by phone or in-person.
