COVID-19 pumped the brakes on just about everyone’s plans for this summer, but anyone paying a visit to Orlando, Florida in the near future might still have a chance to salvage some fun in the sun. However, it will require a few sacrifices along the way. After announcing plans to gradually reopen their doors to the public, Universal Studios Orlando has shared a new video that details the measures being taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The video notes that even the strictest adherence to social distancing guidelines doesn’t necessarily guarantee against exposure to the virus. In other words, anyone visiting the park this year would be doing so at their own risk. Still, it looks like park employees will be working their hardest to keep people as safe as possible. For starters, there will be routine temperature checks, including one when individuals first enter the park. If a person’s temperature is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, they won’t be allowed entry.

As expected, guests also must wear protective face coverings at all times unless they’re swimming. They will also be advised to wash their hands regularly and maintain a six-foot distance between themselves and other groups. Additionally, patrons are encouraged to download the official Universal Orlando Resort app during their stay. The app helps people to stay safe by allowing them to use the Virtual Line experience to book their ride time in advance. It also lets them order food from participating restaurants.
Universal Studios Orlando’s reopening kicks off this Friday, June 5. You can watch the park’s new video below, then share your thoughts in the comment section!
