Hot Toys Homemade Suit Spider-Man Gets Far From Home Refresh

Whatever the final situation between Sony and Disney, it does appear that Marvel Studios wants to make the most of their design for Spidey’s homemade suit. Hot Toys‘ version has been popular and rare, but now they’ve come up with a re-release that might make fans want to double-dip. Based on its brief appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Homemade Suit Spider-Man returns with a Mysterio drone and illusion-based base.

The drone is the big lure, because it can be used both as a base and an enemy in any diorama. Really big spenders might even collect more than one. The actual figure base reflects the virtual reality created by Mysterio’s 3D image mapping. As does the return of Peter’s old suit, to make him feel less powerful. It even includes “smoke webs” which appear ineffective against the new villain’s threat.

And is that a tease of Hot Toys’ Mysterio? Absolutely…but with a caveat. Not everything Hot Toys shows off in prototype form sees the light of day. So if these glimpses of Quentin Beck in the fishbowl suit excite you, let the company know it.

But the base figure itself is no slouch either. As a reminder, Spider-Man comes with “a masked head sculpt with 3 sets of interchangeable eyepieces for making a variety of facial expressions.” Additionally, he sports “a highly flexible specialized body for posing, and an intricately tailored outfit with web-shooters.”
