Seth Rogen Talks Green Hornet

Seth Rogen is arguably one of the funniest guys making movies right now, having played key roles in Judd Apatow’s The 40-Year-Old Virgin and starring in Knocked Up. Next month, he will co-star in a teen comedy he co-wrote with high school buddy Evan Goldberg that they’ve been developing for years called Superbad, which solidifies that claim, as proven when he showed the movie at Comic-Con International for a packed audience with producer Judd Apatow and the entire cast in attendance.

Recently, it was announced that Rogen would be writing the script for a movie based on the radio and comic book hero The Green Hornet with his Superbad co-writer Evan Goldberg and though that may very well be the funniest movie of the year, in the Q &A that followed the screening, Rogen stated very clearly that the movie is “not a comedy, it’s an action movie.”

Considering what a great comic actor and writer Rogen is, it’ll be interesting to see how far it’s scaled back when they take on this lesser-known superhero, which always had more of a gritty pulp feel to it.

Rogen will also executive produce and star in The Green Hornet, which Columbia Pictures is planning for a summer 2009 release.
