The Hollywood Reporter says director Michael Bay and executive producer Steven Spielberg’s Transformers will have its world premiere at the Taormina Film Festival.
The premiere would represent the first time a major U.S. film of that stature premiered at the 53-year-old Taormina event.
Bay, several cast members and executives from distributor Paramount Pictures will arrive by helicopter in an elaborate ceremony before the June 21 screening.
Taormina, located on the Italian island of Sicily, will host the festival June 16-22.
