Box Office Mojo reports that Spider-Man 2 added another $31.76 million from 4,152 theaters on Friday to bring its 3-day total to $96 million. It will reach the $100 million mark Saturday, its 4th day, which is not as fast as Spider-Man, which did so in 3 days (though that opened on a Friday). We’re expecting a big number for Saturday, so stay tuned.
Meanwhile, “Shrek 2” did pass Spider-Man on Friday with a total of $404.3 million to climb to the fifth spot on the all-time domestic blockbuster list. Spider-Man earned $403.7 million in 2002.
