Tobey on Leno and Spider-Man 2 at MLB

First up, ‘spidemanfan#1’ tells us that Tobey Maguire will appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday, June 22. Also, we had four fans experience Spider-Man 2 day at the Major League Baseball games. Here’s ‘Peter Norbot’…

At US Cingular Field the Chicago White Sox played the Braves on a beautiful day on Sunday. Not only did the Sox’s win, but Spider-Man 2 hysterica was happening all over the park. During the second inning or so, a TV spot came on. It was beautiful, including some never before scenes. Such as Spider-Man unmasked stopping the train, Peter all in his ripped Spidey suit crawling on his web (IT LOOKED SO BAD ASS!) Harry’s reaction after taking off the mask, Aunt May falling in the sky and Spidey diving after her, MJ kissing Peter a lot and tons of fast motion of Spidey and Doc Ock duking it out! The crowd was cheering when they played the spot, so it made only sence to play it….AGAIN!!! 😉 At the park they gave out Spidey cut out masks and foam fingers. You could see them being waved around by everyone and it’s safe to say I was happy to be a “Spider-Man Fan” that day. They played the Spider-Man 60’s theme song during the game and it’s for certain…Chicago can not wait to see this movie.

Went to Spider-man 2 day at Jacobs field (Cleveland Indians)today June, 13. The give aways were okay, but seeing the previews on the best score board in the world was awesome. As far as posters you could bearly see them. I was hoping for a little more Spidey action but that did not happen except for when the mascotts dressed up as Spider-man and Doc Ock (cheesy but the kids liked it).

Just wanted to let you guys know that yesterday I attended an MLB game in Baltimore, and got to see a lot of the Spider-man tie-in advertising. Right as I walked into the park, I noticed stands selling Spidey masks, foam-fingers (in his web-slinging hand gesture) and Spidey face paint. Moments before the game started they aired the original trailer that aired during “The Apprentice” on the big screen, which got a positive reaction. But the part that caught my attention was a video that aired on the big screen during a break between innings. It was a video highlighting extraordinary baseball plays, spliced with scenes of Spider-man 2, set to a cover song of the original 60’s show’s theme song. It featured some new footage, including an extended look at the bank fight between Ock and Spidey. Very cool stuff.

Hey Hype! I just got home from the Boston Red Sox vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers game from Friendly Fenway Park! The park was bumpin’ with Spider-Man cut-out masks and foam Spidey hands! They played the trailer a few times before the game started during batting practice and also played the 60s Spider-man theme! Over all the game was great and it was even better to hear the Spidey tunes basting thru the park and see all the little kids all excited about Spider-Man 2! Red Sox Baseball and The Amazing Spider-man Hand ‘n’ Hand!!! It doesn’t get any better than this! Thanks!
