The actual box office figures are in for the 4-day President’s Day weekend, and Sony Pictures’ “50 First Dates,” starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, has become the biggest opening in history for the holiday weekend making $45.11 million from 3,591 theaters.
Last year, 20th Century Fox opened the Daredevil movie on the same weekend which then made $45.03 million from 3,471 theaters.
“Dates” was budgeted at about $75 million, while Daredevil carried a $78 million production budget.
