The Globe and Mail reported this interesting news bit which talks about the financial troubles of the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts. Here’s two clips from the article…
Two years after reopening with much pomp and promise, the Centre in Vancouver for Performing Arts, formerly known as the Ford Centre, is facing an uncertain future. A string of money-losing productions has forced theatre operators to cancel two shows and lay off two of its 10 full-time staff members.
Holden, however, says the theatre will probably produce fewer shows in the future and look for more rental income. The theatre is currently being used as a filming location for the Hollywood movie Catwoman, starring Halle Berry.
If you happen to catch any of the filming, then be sure to drop us a note!
