NYCC: Talking to the Cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

Talking to the Legends of Tomorrow cast, including Brandon Routh and Arthur Darvill

Warner Bros. Television brought an impressive slate of their DC Comics-inspired shows to New York Comic Con, but the show that probably has the most interest right now is the CW’s upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which will spin-off from their already successful shows, The Flash and Arrow.

Unlike those shows, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be about a supergroup made up of a hodge podge of DC characters, both heroes and villains, that will travel through time trying to prevent time anomalies in history.

Before the panel, ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype had a chance to talk to the film’s showrunner, Phil Klemmer, as well as some of the Legends of Tomorrow cast, including Brandon Routh, who plays Ray Palmer, AKA The Atom, Ciara Renee, who plays Hawkgirl, and Arthur Darvill, who plays Rip Hunter, the DC Universe’s premiere time traveler who puts together the group to fight the immortal evil of Vandal Savage (played by Casper Crump).

Science fiction fans will probably remember Darvill for his time playing Rory Williams on Doctor Who for three seasons, so playing a time traveler again wasn’t that different for him except that he’s the one trying to be in charge of the motley crew that also includes Wentworth Miller’s Captain Cold and Dominic Purcell’s Heatwave from “The Flash” and Falk Hentschel as Carter Hall, AKA Hawkman.

We talked about all sorts of things with Klemmer and the Legends of Tomorrow cast, and it certainly sounds like it will be very different from the CW’s current shows, probably more epic and maybe more like “Star Trek” where they’re traveling around time in a spaceship trying to stop Savage from disrupting time.

You can check out all the interviews below where we got a few teases of what to expect in the upcoming season which debuts in January.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer
