Eight years after Zack Snyder’s big screen take on Frank Miller’s comic book miniseries, the ultra-stylized world of 300 returns to the big screen this week with 300: Rise of an Empire, expanding the focus of the original film’s Persian offensive to reveal the based-on-history Battle of Artemisium.
ComingSoon.net/SuperHeroHype sat down to speak with several of the film’s stars, including Callan Mulvey and Jack O’Connell (playing the Greek father/son duo of Scyllias and Calisto), Lena Headey (reprising her role as Queen Gorgo) and Eva Green (playing the bloodthirsty Persian Navy commander Artemisia, who serves as the film’s chief antagonist). Sadly, leading man Sullivan Stapleton recently sustained injuries and was unavailable for interviews. We wish him the best in achieving a speedy recovery!
