Video Interviews: ‘Passing the Pigs’ with the Cast of R.I.P.D.

In R.I.P.D., Ryan Reynolds leads as Nick Walker, a Boston cop who’s killed on the job, but instead passing over into the afterlife, he’s sent to work for the R.I.P.D., the Rest in Peace Department. Nick learns that sometimes folks avoid moving on and remain on Earth as a Deado, a seemingly normal person who “pops” and reveals a more monstrous side when he or she gets a whiff of Indian food. After getting a hasty introduction to his duties as a new recruit and learning what he must do so he can get a good recommendation and eventually cross through the pearly gates, Proctor (Mary-Louise Parker) assigns Roy a partner, a veteran sheriff with an attachment to his cowboy hat, little respect for the rules, and absolutely no filter, Jeff Bridges’ Roy Pulsifer.

R.I.P.D. lives up to its promotional campaign, delivering an outrageous romp through the battle between the dead and the dead, and is loaded with grotesque creatures, a ton of gunfire and a countless amount of Jeff Bridges one-liners.

With the film due for a wide release on the evening of Thursday, July 18, we had the chance to talk to Reynolds, Bridges, and Parker about what it took to cross over and make the R.I.P.D. a reality. Check out what they told us about their personal on-Earth avatar preferences, favorite lines from the film, what it’s like having two movies come out in a single weekend, and more. And if you just have to try Pass the Pigs after watching this interview, you can get the game for yourself right here.
