The superhero team-up is a time-honored tradition in American comics. Ever since The Shield met The Wizard in 1940’s Top Notch Comics #5, superheroes have joined forces for the common good. However, that concept will be turned on its head when the Toxic Avenger crosses over with Jesus Christ from Second Coming.
The crossover will kickoff a new Ahoy Comics miniseries, Toxie Team-Up. The new comic will find the Toxic Avenger getting a helping hand from other Ahoy Comics characters. The first issue will be produced by writer Mark Russell and artist Richard Pace. Russell and Pace are the co-creators of Second Coming, a satire centered around Jesus and his superhero roommate, Sunstar. The three volumes of Second Coming have explored a variety of social issues in the same way as the Toxic Avengers movies.
“Toxic Avenger and Jesus Christ is the team-up that everybody has been clamoring for and I am not one to stand in the way,” said Russell. “Just as in Second Coming, Christ shows that there are more tools in the box than just violence. And Tromaville, as strange as it is, is still a place that someone who grew up bullied by the jocks in the Roman Empire would recognize.”
Toxie Team-Up to kick off Toxic Avenger’s Toxic Summer

The new Toxie Team-Up miniseries is one of several new comic books Ahoy is publishing this year. This will coincide with the release of the new Toxic Avenger reboot movie. To that end, Ahoy have declared 2025 the Toxic Summer.
The Toxic Summer will include several new specials. In addition to Toxie Team-Up, there is a new monthly Toxic Avenger book. There will also be a Toxie Pin-Up special, for mature readers with strong stomachs.
The Toxie Team-Up #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on June 11, 2025.
