Marvel Comics Unleashes Ultimate Wolverine #1 Trailer

Regardless of where he is in the multiverse, Logan is the best there is at what he does. But what is he doing in the new Ultimate Universe? This question is answered in a new trailer for the upcoming Ultimate Wolverine series.

Written by Chris Condon with art by Alessandro Cappuccio, the series will introduce Wolverine in a new yet familiar role. In the Ultimate Universe, Logan is the Winter Soldier and the ultimate weapon of The Maker. For years, he has served the whims of Magik, Colossus, and Omega Red, killing those Mutants who threaten their order. However, their control of their favorite assassin has slipped, and the man behind the mask is ready to strike out on his own. However, it remains to be seen whether the Ultimate Wolverine will be a force for good or a greater monster than ever.

Ultimate Wolverine to explore status of Mutants in new setting

It has been known for some time that Magik and Colossus were villains in the new Ultimate Universe. However, little has been revealed about how they manage their share of the Maker’s empire. Also, apart from them, there has been little sign of established X-Men characters in the setting. However, the trailer reveals that the Ultimate versions of Mystique and Nightcrawler will appear in Ultimate Wolverine.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” shared Condon. “Each issue we have planned pushes the ideas that we all have about Wolverine to their limits. Which is everything that an ‘ultimate’ Wolverine should be.” Condon also praised the art team on the book, which includes colorist Bryan Valenza and letterer Cory Petit, as well as Alessandro Cappuccio.

Ultimate Wolverine #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on January 15, 2025.
