Deadpool & Wolverine featured many variants of Deadpool from across the Marvel Comics multiverse. One of the standouts was a new creation, Kidpool, who is a tween female variant of Wade Wilson. The Murderous Middle-Grader will make their comic book debut, in a one-shot special alongside Spider-Boy.
Kidpool & Spider-Boy #1 will be written by superstar writer Christopher Yost, best known for his work on various Marvel Studios films and animated series. The artwork will be provided by an all-star team of artists. This team includes Nathan Stockman, Chris Campana, and Jed Dougherty.
Kidpool, it should be noted, is a distinctively different character from the new tween Deadpool introduced earlier this year. That Deadpool is Eleanor “Ellie” Camacho, daughter of Wade Wilson. Ellie recently took on her father’s mantle in the monthly Deadpool title, following his death. At the present time, it is unclear just what the background of Kidpool in the comics will be.

The one-shot special will center around the historic first meeting between the Murderous Middle-Grader and the Adolescent Arachnid. Bailey Briggs will be tested as never before, trying to keep Kidpool from single-handedly “causing the return of the Comics Code.” That may be hyperbolic, but anything is possible with a reality-shattering variant.

The main cover will be provided by Humberto Ramos, who is the co-creator of Spider-Boy and an artist on his monthly title. One variant cover will be produced by Young Justice artist Todd Nauck.
