The Bruce Banner of the new Ultimate Universe is still a man of mystery. He has been confirmed to be far more amoral than his Earth-616 counterpart, conducting cruel experiments that irradiated large sections of his world. He is also a different kind of Hulk, having apparently turned to Zen to master his rage. Thus far, we have not seen the Ultimate Hulk in action. However, the preview pages of The Ultimates #6 suggest a battle with Banner is imminent.
Written by Deniz Camp, with art by Juan Frigeri, The Ultimates #6 opens with the titular team on high-alert. They have learned of a superhuman prison, whose inmates are scheduled for execution. The urgency of the mission makes the heroes less cautious than they might be ordinarily. This allows the Hulk to spring a deceptively peaceful trap.

Ultimates #6 marks first time whole team assembles
Beyond teasing a fight with the Hulk, Ultimates #6 is notable as the first time the entire team have come together for a single mission. Most of the Ultimates issues to date have centered on only one or two members of the team, with their ranks slowly expanding. New characters have been introduced, but surprisingly few of them have gotten much in the way of extensive development.

The previous issue, for instance, introduced this Earth’s version of Hawkeye. However, little has been revealed about them beyond their Native American heritage, hatred of the Roxxon corporation, and skill with a bow. This is still more than we know about the new America Chavez, who has not been seen since her first appearance in Ultimates #2. It will be interesting to see the whole team together, however, as they contend with the Hulk and his followers.
The Ultimates #6 arrives in comic shops everywhere on November 6, 2024.
