Ororo Munroe has been many things in her life. A thief. A goddess. A queen. A leader. First and foremost, however, she has been a leader of her own destiny. The preview pages of Storm #1 find the former X-Men leader starting a new life in a new role: publically operating superhero.
Written by Murwea Ayodele, with art by Lucas Werneck, Storm #1 finds Ororo preparing for an interview. She is recently relocated into the Storm Sanctuary, a base of operations and animal preservation park located in Atlanta. However, while Ororo has embraced her new role and its new challenges, she still faces the same problems with Mutant prejudice.
The first eight pages of Storm #1 can be viewed below.
Storm #1 highlights the many lives of Ororo Munroe
The preview makes it clear that the new series will not be overlooking any aspect of Ororo Munroe’s long history. There are many parts of her life that have been neglected or otherwise glossed over by recent writers. Chief among these was her marriage to Black Panther, which was annulled during the events of Avengers vs. X-Men.

Murewa Ayodele promises that the new series will examine every aspect of Storm but also also test her like never before. ”When you’re an Omega-level mutant, few things can test your limits, and even fewer things can shatter those limits,” Ayodele notes. “Prepare yourselves for an extraordinary display of superheroism that leaves knuckles bloody, knees bashed in, and mountains cratered.”
“I still can’t believe that Marvel gave me this gift,” Lucas Werneck noted. “Storm is a character that I love, and I have so much respect for what this character represents to people. We’re working with so much love and devotion on this project, and I hope that fans enjoy it as much as we’re enjoying making it.”
Storm #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on October 2, 2024.
