Typically Darkseid has no need for personal weapons. As wielder of the Omega Effect, the leader of the evil New Gods of Apokolips can already destroy most enemies with a glance. Nevertheless, the preview of DC All-In Special #1 finds the intergalactic tyrant creating a new weapon.
Written by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, with art by Wes Craig, “Omega” shows how Darkseid responds to a shift in the cosmic balance. The god of tyranny feels a new calling, far stronger than his usual urge to conquer and control. This leads him to construct something that is both machine and weapon, requiring a blood sacrifice to bond it to him.

DC All-In highlights unique status of Darkseid
Darkseid is undoubtedly the most powerful of the many villains to threaten the DC Universe. However, he is marked as unique for reasons beyond his power. The New Gods are the only beings in DC Comics‘ cosmology that have no variants across the multiverse.
Simply put, in every universe, Darkseid is.
“Omega” kicks off the cosmic change that will establish the new Absolute Universe. This grim reality will be born of Darkseid’s will, being darker than the world of Earth-Prime. However, this new world will also grant what heroes arise the chance to burn brighter than ever before.
