New Justice League Forms, Booster Gold Shows Growth in DC All-In Special Preview

It has been a time of turmoil for the heroes of Earth-Prime. Amanda Waller‘s quest for Absolute Power brought them to the brink of destruction. Still, they rallied, as heroes do, and proved the power of a unified front. This leads to a reborn Justice League and a new attitude for Booster Gold in DC All-In Special #1.

Written by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson, with art by Daniel Sampere and Dan Mora, the new Justice League is revealed in the “Alpha” story of DC All-In Special. Most of the teams’ membership have their club cards teleported to them. However, some heroes require a personal touch.

One of these is the time-traveler Booster Gold, who can potentially be anywhere or anywhen. Tracking down where he might be is beyond even the advanced technology of Batman and Mister Terrific. This makes it a job for Superman, who is all too happy to deliver the good news and the card.

The first seven pages of the “Alpha” story of DC All-In Special #1 may be viewed below.

DC All-In presents changed Booster Gold

Booster Gold is one of the most inconsistently written of DC Comics‘ heroes. He was first created as a satire of the consumer culture of the 1980s. However, despite originally being portrayed as shallow and obsessed with fortune and glory, Booster grew into a true hero. Indeed, he ultimately became the secret guardian of DC’s timeline. Unfortunately, this development was consequently ignored by later writers, who wrote Booster as a generally incompetent caricature of his former self.

The appearance of a Booster more interested in helping out than plugging a sponsor is a true sign of change in DC All-In Special #1. It is also a hopeful omen of what readers can expect from the upcoming Justice League Unlimited series. All in all, this suggests the DC All-In Special might truly be the start of something new and something good at DC Comics.

DC All-In Special #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on October 2, 2024.
