Star Wars: Rey, Ahsoka and More Shine on Women’s History Month Marvel Covers

This year, Marvel Comics celebrates Women’s History Month with a collection of variant covers starring the leading ladies of the Star Wars franchise.

Marvel‘s Women’s History Month Variant Covers will adorn installments of the publisher’s various Star Wars titles throughout the month of March. Things kick off on March 6 with Jan Duursema’s variant cover for Star Wars #44, featuring Mon Mothma. Then, on March 13, Rey Skywalker leaps into action on Marguerite Sauvage‘s variant for Star Wars: Darth Vader #44, while Tynnra Pamlo takes center stage on Karen Darboe’s variant for Star Wars: Mace Windu #2.

Three more titles featuring Women’s History Month covers will hit shelves on March 20. First, Rose Tico stars on Aka’s cover art for Star Wars: Jango Fett #1. Meanwhile, Ahsoka Tano looms large on Betsy Cola’s variant for Star Wars: The High Republic #5 and Fennec Shand stands tall on Annie Wu’s variant for Star Wars: Thrawn Alliances #3.

Finally, Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi #6 arrives in comic shops on March 27. Stephanie Hans’ variant cover features Omega, of Star Wars: The Bad Batch fame.

Notably, many of the Star Wars characters featured on Marvel’s Women’s History Month variants have clear futures in Lucasfilm‘s flagship franchise. For instance, Ahsoka‘s Disney+ series has been renewed for a second season, with Season 1 actually getting a comic book adaptation at Marvel later this year.

Fans can expect to see Omega return in the third and final season of The Bad Batch, which hits Disney+ later this month. Fennec Shand will also appear in The Bad Batch Season 3 following her most recent outing in The Book of Boba Fett. Similarly, Mon Mothma will appear in the upcoming second and final season of Disney+’s Rogue One prequel series Andor (which will likely release in 2025). Meanwhile, Daisy Ridley is attached to reprise her role as Rey in an upcoming Star Wars film directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.

It’s unclear when Tynnra Pamlo might next appear. However, the Rebel senator did debut as an ally to Mon Mothma in 2016’s Rogue One — meaning it’s possible she’ll pop up in Andor Season 2. A Bad Batch Season 3 appearance is also possible, given that she was already in Season 2.

Rose Tico’s future is also up in the air following her most recent on-screen appearance in 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, with Ridley making a comeback as Rey, it is possible that other Sequel Trilogy alums will follow suit.
