Marvel’s Venom Family Stars on ‘Symbiosis Necrosis’ Connecting Cover

Marvel Comics has revealed artist Ken Lashley‘s connecting variant cover for the four-part Venom/Carnage crossover arc “Symbiosis Necrosis.”

“Symbiosis Necrosis” kicks off in March’s Venom #31 by Torunn Grønbekk and Lashley. The arc continues in March’s Carnage #5 by Grønbekk and Pere Pérez, and April’s Venom #31 by Al Ewing and Lashley. It concludes in April’s Carnage #6 by Grønbekk and Pérez. The arc’s two Venom issues feature main cover art by Cafu, while the two Carnage issues feature main covers by Juan Ferreyra.

Meanwhile, Lashley’s four-piece Connecting Cover stars Eddie Brock/Venom alongside his son, Dylan Brock/Venom. The cover also features the elder Venom’s other “son,” Cletus Kasady/Carnage — not to mention Meridius, the “twisted” Eddie Brock variant currently making trouble for Eddie and Dylan.

What is Marvel’s ‘Symbiosis Necrosis’ arc about?

In “Symbiosis Necrosis,” Cletus Kasady attempts to get back at longtime rival Eddie Brock by targeting his son. As Marvel explains, Eddie and Dylan are “currently on interwoven journeys across space and time in the pages of VENOM, but their paths will collide dramatically when Dylan faces off against Cletus for the first time. The crossover will be packed with explosive developments including a new look for Carnage, a power up for Dylan, a shocking twist to Cletus and Carnage’s bond, and an epic showdown with the only symbiote Carnage truly fears: Anti-Venom!”

“If Dylan sees the full extent of what Venom has done in this world, it might not be great,” Grønbekk said. “And Carnage being as sadist as he is, he doesn’t just want to kill Dylan, he wants Dylan to be aware of everything that Venom has done. And it turns into a sort of spectacular thing. And then it sort of it takes a turn. And I’m not going to say what kind of turn, but it doesn’t go the way you think it will.”

“Symbiosis Necrosis” begins in Venom #31 — on sale Wednesday, March 6 from Marvel Comics.
