Disney+‘s live-action Star Wars series Ahsoka is getting a comic book adaptation at Marvel later this year.
Star Wars: Ahsoka launches this coming July from writer Rodney Barnes and artists Steven Cummings and Georges Jeanty. The eight-issue limited series sequentially adapts all eight episodes of Ahsoka Season 1, which debuted on Disney+ last year. This marks fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano‘s very first solo series at the House of Ideas. At the same time, Ahsoka as a show is only the latest Lucasfilm-produced Disney+ series to get a Marvel Comics adaptation — following The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. (Notably, the Ahsoka comic features the same creative team as The Mandalorian.)

What to expect from Marvel’s Star Wars; Ahsoka
According to Marvel, the Ahsoka adaptation will “deliver all the action and drama from the show as it follows Ahsoka’s galaxy-spanning quest to bring Grand Admiral Thrawn to justice. The saga also featured the villainous Morgan Elsbeth, introduced mysterious Force-users Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati and marked the live-action debuts of various characters from the Star Wars Rebels animated series, including Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, and Ezra Bridger. Relive all these thrilling moments and more in a brand-new way!”

Ahsoka will return for Season 2 on Disney+
Ahsoka Tano first burst onto the scene via the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the spin-off animated series of the same name. She subsequently appeared in the follow-up animated series Star Wars Rebels before eventually making her live-action debut in The Mandalorian Season 2.
Ahsoka spun off into a live-action series of her own, which has helped to flesh out the Mandalorian sub-franchise of Star Wars stories set shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi. Disney+’s Ahsoka is also the de facto sequel to Rebels, revisiting several key characters and picking up a number of hanging plot threads from the animated series. While Ahsoka Season 1 left its eponymous hero in a bit of a predicament, Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed that a second season is in the works.
Star Wars: Ahsoka #1 goes on sale in July 2024 from Marvel Comics.
