Marvel Comics has revealed Stefano Caselli‘s cover art for Ultimate Black Panther #3, which offers a first look at Earth-6160’s Storm and Erik Killmonger.
Written by Bryan Hill and illustrated by Caselli, Ultimate Black Panther launches in February as part of Marvel‘s new Ultimate Universe. On Earth-6160, Storm and Erik Killmonger are a freedom-fighting couple. The pair will debut in Ultimate Black Panther #1 before appearing on the cover of April’s issue #3. In addition to Caselli’s new cover, Marvel has revealed Peach Momoko’s character design sheets for both Storm and Killmonger.

“I’ve always loved looking at outfits of tribes from all over the world,” Momoko said. “And combining the modern and tribal, the beauty and strong, is something I always love thinking about. And getting to design for Storm and Killmonger, I wanted to respect the characters and also put in my soul and unique vision into them.”
What to expect from Storm and Killmonger in Ultimate Black Panther
Per Marvel, Ultimate Storm and Ultimate Killmonger “defend their people as heroic freedom fighters throughout the continent of Africa.” However, “when Moon Knight‘s army launches a brutal invasion, they’ll help convince the powerful nation of Wakanda to finally step out of the shadows!”
In Ultimate Black Panther #3, “Black Panther takes matters into his own hands and embarks on a covert solo mission to deal with Ra and Khonshu directly!” By this point, “Wakanda’s conflict with Moon Knight has escalated. Even with spies all across the continent feeding information, Wakanda is overwhelmed. Everything changes, though, when a pair of freedom fighters enter the fray: Ultimate Killmonger and Ultimate Storm!”
Ultimate Black Panther is the second of three ongoing series launching in early 2024 as part of the new Ultimate Universe. Jonathan Hickman and Marco Checchetto’s Ultimate Spider-Man kicks off in January. Momoko’s Ultimate X-Men follows suit in March. Additional Ultimate titles will hit shelves in the following months.
