BOOM! Studios has released a first-look preview for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #1 — the first in a four-issue limited series co-written by original Pink Ranger Amy Jo Johnson.
MMPR: The Return launches early this coming February. The series teams Johnson with co-writer Matt Hotson and artist Nico Leon. At this time, BOOM! has shared four unlettered, partially-colored preview pages from the debut issue — in which an alternate-future version of Red Ranger Jason Lee Scott falls victim to a mysterious adversary.

What is MMPR: The Return about?
“In an alternate universe, the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers defeated Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, but at a terrible cost … and in the wake of that tragedy, the team went their separate ways,” an official synopsis for MMPR: The Return reads.
“Twenty-two years later, the long-disbanded team reunites to mourn the losses of beloved friends, but Zack and Billy have some unexpected information to share: Jason — the Red Ranger, who has long been operating as a lone vigilante — has disappeared,” it continues. “Will the remaining Rangers be able to track him down, especially with a mysterious figure in pursuit?”
While MMPR: The Return begins its serialized run in February, BOOM! is also currently holding a Kickstarter campaign for Direct Reserve collected editions of the book. At the time of writing, the campaign has raised a whopping $479,404 USD from 4,527 backers. The campaign concludes next Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The Direct Reserve editions are currently expected to ship in December 2024.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Return #1 goes on sale February 7, 2024 from BOOM! Studios.
