Johnny Blaze Takes His Last Lap on Greg Capullo’s Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance Cover

Marvel Comics has revealed acclaimed artist Greg Capullo‘s variant cover for next year’s Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #1.

Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance launches in March from writer Benjamin Percy and artist Danny Kim. In the upcoming series, the Spirit of Vengeance falls into the wrong hands, forcing Johnny Blaze to “embark on an epic quest to become Ghost Rider again before the newly possessed uses its demonic power for a dark purpose.” Capullo’s variant for issue #1 shows Johnny taking what Marvel calls his “final ride.”

There’s a new Ghost Rider in town

For the time being, Marvel is keeping tight-lipped on the villainous new Ghost Rider’s identity. However, the publisher teases that “fans won’t believe who it is,” implying that it is indeed an established character.

In any case, an official synopsis for Final Vengeance #1 reads as follows: “Who is the new Spirit of Vengeance? Johnny Blaze was bonded with the Spirit of Vengeance. Unwilling to be a monster, Johnny used this demon from Hell to do good as the Ghost Rider. But heroism isn’t what the Rider was meant for. So who will be the new Spirit of Vengeance? And what will it mean for the Marvel Universe?”

Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance #1 goes on sale March 13, 2024 from Marvel Comics. The issue features a main cover by Juan Ferreyra.
