Marvel Comics has unveiled two covers for February’s Avengers: Twilight #3 — both of which spotlight an older, seemingly more world-weary version of Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel.
The one-time Champion and recently-minted X-Man looms large on both Alex Ross‘ main cover and Daniel Acuña’s variant cover for Avengers: Twilight #3. “Today, Kamala Khan is one of the Marvel Universe’s brightest and honorable heroes,” Marvel explains. “In AVENGERS: TWILIGHT, will she continue to live up to her esteemed reputation or has her mantle been irreparably tarnished?”

True Believers caught their first glimpse at Avengers: Twilight’s older Ms. Marvel via the upcoming series’ official trailer, which Marvel debuted last month at New York Comic Con.
Avengers: Twilight depicts a dark future for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes
Avengers: Twilight launches in January from writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Acuña. According to Marvel, the six-issue limited series “will explore the very nature of being a super hero through the lens of an aged Steve Rogers, who must wield the shield once more to not only save the world but restore the Avengers‘ legacy.” The Star-Spangled Man will have to “stop an all-new lineup of corrupt heroes with startling connections to the Avengers of today.”
“Steve is the perfect character with which to see a changed future since he’s been through that experience before coming out of WW2,” Zdarsky recently told ComicBook.com. “His ethics and morals and outlook have a consistency to them, so seeing how he reacts to a changed America is always interesting, to me at least! And this future America is seemingly perfect, so Steve has to question whether or not to upset what his fellow Americans are comfortable with in pursuit of the truth.”
Avengers: Twilight #1 arrives on January 17, 2024 — with issue #2 following suit later that same month. February’s issue #3 will then “take Captain America off the shores of New York City to the Raft, a government facility full of secrets and danger! Can Cap infiltrate it before the new Iron Man gives him the same gruesome fate as Tony Stark?”
Avengers: Twilight #3 goes on sale February 28, 2024 from Marvel Comics.
