Marvel Comics has revealed artist Daniel Acuña’s foil variant cover for January’s Avengers: Twilight #1.
Acuña’s foil variant for Avengers: Twilight #1 sees an aged Captain America riding into action on a motorcycle. This goes to show that Cap is staying true to his roots in the upcoming future-set series, as Steve Rogers has long been depicted as having a penchant for Harley-Davidson bikes.

Captain America gets a future shock in Avengers: Twilight
Avengers: Twilight is a six-issue limited series written by Chip Zdarsky and illustrated by Acuña. “In a gleaming new world of prosperity, Captain America is no more,” an official synopsis for issue #1 reads. “But Steve Rogers still exists, floating through an America where freedom is an illusion, where the Avengers are strangers and his friends are long dead. But is the Dream? How do you assemble Avengers in a world that doesn’t want them?”
Marvel further describes Avengers: Twilight as a “thought-provoking epic that examines what it means to be a Super Hero in the Marvel Universe.” Throughout Zdarsky and Acuña’s six-part saga, readers will learn about the “heartbreaking tragedies that befell [Steve’s] former teammates” as the Star-Spangled Man “finds himself in conflict with characters that have startling connections to the Avengers of today.”
“Steve is the perfect character with which to see a changed future since he’s been through that experience before coming out of WW2,” Zdarsky said in a recent interview with ComicBook.com. “His ethics and morals and outlook have a consistency to them, so seeing how he reacts to a changed America is always interesting, to me at least! And this future America is seemingly perfect, so Steve has to question whether or not to upset what his fellow Americans are comfortable with in pursuit of the truth.”
Avengers: Twilight #1 goes on sale January 17, 2023 from Marvel Comics. The issue features a main cover by Alex Ross.
