Marvel Comics has revealed artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau’s variant cover for the upcoming debut issue of Fall of the House of X.
Artgerm’s variant for January’s Fall of the House of X #1 finds Illyana Rasputin/Magik ready to join the final battle for Krakoa, Soulsword in hand. While Marvel unveiled the standard edition of the cover on its website, Artgerm himself highlighted the virgin edition on X. The artist also pointed out that this is his first time drawing Magik in her new costume.

Fall of the House of X begins in January 2024
Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Lucas Werneck, Fall of the House of X is a five-issue limited series that depicts the end of the X-Men‘s Krakoan age. That said, Duggan and Werneck’s series is quite literally only half the story. Fall of the House of X will run alongside Kieron Gillen and R.B. Silva’s five-issue series Rise of the Powers of X.
“Mutantkind has never had a greater fall,” an official synopsis for Fall of the House of X #1 reads. “From the highs of Krakoa — their own glorious nation, a place where they were safe and happy — to the lowest of lows. Outlawed, hunted, killed, most of their kind missing or dead, and now, one their greatest leaders, Cyclops, is on trial facing a death penalty. Ready or not, the time has come for the X-Men to make their final stand against the forces that have struck them low. The day is now. The place is here. The tale of the house Xavier built will long be told … and few will forget this darkest chapter.”
Fall of the House of X #1 goes on sale January 3, 2024 from Marvel Comics. The issue features a main cover by Pepe Larraz.
