Marvel’s Uncanny Avengers Battle the New Brotherhood of Mutants in Issue #2 First Look

Marvel Comics has released a first-look preview for Uncanny Avengers #2, pitting the eponymous team against the new Brotherhood of Mutants.

Marvel‘s new Uncanny Avengers series recently launched as part of the “Fall of X” event. Written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Javier Garrón, the series stars the Avengers Unity Squad — which is led by Captain America and includes the likes of Rogue, Deadpool, Quicksilver, Psylocke, and Penance. Their fight against Captain Krakoa’s new Brotherhood of Mutants continues in next month’s issue #2, which sees the Unity Squad get some help from Black Widow. Marvel’s sneak peek at the upcoming issue consists of Garrón’s cover art and four unlettered interior pages.

What to expect as Uncanny Avengers continues

The official solicitation text for Uncanny Avengers #2 reads as follows: “At a time when mutant and human relations are in the toilet, the Uncanny Avengers have run smack into a new BROTHERHOOD OF EVIL MUTANTS, and, folks, lemme tell you — they came here to beat up Avengers and X-Men and chew gum, and they’re all outta gum. Wake up, babe, a new romance hits that will make readers froth at the mouth. Plus, Ben Urich. Always the mark of a quality and important Marvel Comic. FOOM!”

Marvel has also revealed the solicitation text for October’s issue #3. “The Unity Squad faces off against the Mutant Liberation Front,” it reads. “Blood will be spilled, and one will fall — TO THEIR DEATH! Plus, Captain America’s been hit with grenades, bullets and bombs, but somebody lobs something at Captain America that we’ve never seen before. ‘Nuff said!”

Uncanny Avengers #1 is on sale now from Marvel Comics. Issue #2 arrives in comic shops on September 20, followed by issue #3 on October 25.
