Obviously, Emma Frost is on the right side. However, the woman on the left may only be recognized by the hardest of hardcore X-Men fans. That’s because she’s Lourdes Chantel, Sebastian Shaw’s former lover who died in her first appearance in Classic X-Men #7. That means she’s barely appeared in a comic since 1987.
Marauders writer Gerry Duggan also passed on a hint about Lourdes’ return in his upcoming issue.
“Painful secrets are revealed in the wake of this year’s triumphant Hellfire Gala. Lourdes was a flame that burned bright, and was extinguished before Cerebro came online, making her resurrection a lost cause — OR IS IT?? Also, is that little Harry Leland on their board? Holy s***!”
Marvel’s full July 2021 solicitations will be released later this week.
