The CW has debuted a couple of trailers for the upcoming Stargirl series. The teasers shed some light on what happened to the Justice Society of America before Courtney took the cosmic staff. For a brief and glorious moment, the Injustice Society thought that they can rule the world after the defeated the JSA. One of the brief clips features an agonizing Doctor Mid-Nite trying to crawl for his life. But it seems like Courtney has got a plan to defeat the villains. First, she will find them; then, she will surprise them; and lastly, she will kick their butts.
The second clip shows that the titular heroine has a long way ahead before she can fulfill her three-point plan. First, she has to learn to control the Cosmic Staff’s powers.

Stargirl will follow the story of Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) who is a smart, athletic and above all else kind girl. Struggling to adapt to a new school, make new friends and deal with a new step-family, Courtney discovers her step-father has a secret; he used to be the sidekick to a superhero. “Borrowing” the long-lost hero’s cosmic staff, Courtney becomes the unlikely inspiration for an entirely new generation of superheroes.
Character creator Geoff Johns will write and produce the series through his Mad Ghost Productions banner together with Greg Berlanti and Berlanti Productions.
