Exclusive Preview: Mr. and Mrs. X #12 – Is This Rogue and Gambit’s Last Stand?

One year ago, Rogue and Gambit unexpectedly tied the knot in X-Men Gold #30. Now, the honeymoon is over! For the last twelve months, the happy couple has been either stuck in space or trapped in the Mojoverse. They couldn’t even host a dinner party at their new home without someone trying to kill them!

Within the pages of Mr. and Mrs. X, Gambit was warned that someone in the Thieves Guild wanted him dead. But when he got to New Orleans, Gambit discovered that the Thieves and the Assassins Guilds have united under the immortal Candra, who has been reborn in a child’s body. Rogue tried to rescue her husband, but Candra proved to be too powerful. Now they both need a rescue unless they can find a way to save themselves.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Mr. and Mrs. X #12, Kelly Thompson and artist Javier Pina begin the final issue of the series with a flashback to Gambit’s past. In the present, Candra has offered Gambit a devil’s choice: he can either save Rogue or his ex-wife, Bella Donna. However, Gambit’s been down this road before. And he’s not going to let either woman die without a fight.
