Exclusive Preview: Dial H For Hero #2

The H-Dial has returned to the DC Universe, and everyone who has ever used it sensed its return! Sam Humphries and artist Joe Quinones have ushered in a new era for Dial H For Hero, but not everyone is cut out to be heroic.

In the first issue, Humphries and Quinones introduced readers to Miguel Montez. Superman saved Miguel’s life when he was a young boy. As a teenager, Miguel has dedicated his life to chasing the thrill of his time with Superman. Unfortunately, there’s not much excitement to be found manning the Mayo Madness food truck in Devil’s Canyon in California. Miguel risked his life for a stupid stunt, and he would have died if the H-Dial hadn’t appeared before him.

Now, Miguel has one of the most powerful artifacts in the DC Universe…and it’s not a coincidence. The enigmatic Operator warned Miguel to protect the Dial from the agents of the Thunderbolt Club. A young runaway named Summer stole Miguel’s food truck and took him along for the ride. However, trouble is riding in right behind them.

In Superhero Hype’s exclusive preview for Dial H For Hero #2, Miguel and Summer arrive at Grand Junction, Colorado. However, they’re short on money and the Operator won’t stop calling from the Heroverse. Mr. Thunder has also tracked down the two teens, thanks to a former wielder of the H-Dial.

Here’s the official description from DC: “On the road (in a food truck full of mayonnaise!) with the amazing H-Dial that gifts the user with a new superpower every time they place a call, teenage runaways Miguel and Summer come under attack by others who crave the power the dial offers. With cryptic calls from the ‘phone zone’ and no one to turn to for help, the adolescent adventurers come to a breaking point, where they either must work together or lose more than just the dial.”
