Batman Begins with $114.6M Worldwide

ComingSoon.net reports that the $150 million-budgeted Batman Begins has collected $114.6 million worldwide in five days:

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Batman Begins topped the weekend box office with $48.7 million. The Christopher Nolan-directed comic book adaptation has pulled in $72.9 million since opening on Wednesday. Budgeted at $150 million, the film also collected $41.7 million from 73 international markets, for a worldwide total of $114.6 million. The five-day North American haul was the best start among the five films in the “Batman” franchise. The record of $66 million was held by the third film, 1995’s Batman Forever, which starred Val Kilmer. Batman Begins stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe, Katie Holmes, Cillian Murphy, Tom Wilkinson and Rutger Hauer.
