Captain America 4 Star Confirms His Scenes Were Cut From MCU Movie

After rumors emerged last year that Seth Rollins had been cut from Captain America: Brave New World, the professional wrestler-turned-actor has made it official. He has confirmed that his scenes are not in the final cut of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie.

Rollins recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet for his Insight podcast, where he touched on his brief time playing in the MCU. “It releases in February. I wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film,” he began. “Truth be told, any answer I gave would only be my opinion on it. The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased.”

The actor added that Marvel Studios tried hard to keep him in the movie following the rewrites, bringing him back to audition for “another role, I believe, or the repurposing of my role, I’m not exactly sure on what it was, but they ended up going in a different direction with it. And yeah my understanding was there were just a lot of rewrites and a lot of reshoots, and they know they’ve got a finished product that hopefully they’re happy with, and hopefully it’s successful, but it will be sans Seth Rollins.”

Captain America: Brave New World still features the Serpent Society

Rollins’ role in the movie was never officially disclosed, but it was believed that he would have portrayed Serpent Society member, Cobra. Despite his character being cut from Brave New World, the Serpent Society is still slated to appear in the movie. During the first wave of rewrites and reshoots, Giancarlo Esposito was added to the movie’s cast as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, the leader of the snake-themed supervillain group, while Rosa Salazar will also appear as Diamondback.
