Green Goblin: Mickey Mouse Voice Actor Pitches MCU Prequel Show

Chris Diamantopoulos, one of the current voice actors for Mickey Mouse, recently shared that he wants to play Norman Osborn/Green Goblin in a Disney+ prequel series.

The actor, who has also voiced Green Arrow and Steve Trevor in DC animated movies, pitched the Green Goblin prequel series to The Direct during a recent interview. “I would be very good in the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” he started. “I was born going to Silver Snail comic shop. That’s like one of the first places I ever went when I was a little kid, little baby. I’ve been a comic fan, a Marvel fan for my entire life, passed that on to my son. He’s a crazy comic collector, particularly 80s and 90s stuff.”

Although Willem Dafoe reprised his role as the Norman Osborn/Green Goblin from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man’s universe for the MCU movie Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Diamantopoulos would want to portray the official MCU version of the supervillain. “I think that they should make a series called ‘Goblin,’ and it should be about Norman Osborn leading up to becoming the Green Goblin. And I should be Norman Osborn,” he pitched.

Does the Green Goblin exist in the MCU?

One hitch in Diamantopoulos’ pitch is that Norman Osborn doesn’t seem to exist on the sacred timeline of the MCU. In the 2021 Spider-Man movie, Dafoe’s Osborn tells Tom Holland’s Peter Parker that his company Oscorp nor his son Harry Osborn existed in the MCU, hinting that the Osborns are not part of this timeline. Of course, given that Diamantopoulos wants to portray a pre-Green Goblin Norman, it leaves the door open for the proposed prequel series to show Norman’s rise to power as both a businessman and a supervillain.

Marvel fans can stream Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, featuring Dafoe’s first three appearances as Green Goblin, as well as countless Diamantopoulos-voiced Mickey Mouse cartoons on Disney+.
