James Gunn confirms Alan Tudyk will voice Will Magnus in Creature Commandos
DC co-CEO James Gunn, along with showrunner Dean Lorey, recently sat down for an interview with Collider to talk about Creature Commandos and other projects that he is currently working on. As the premiere date of Creature Commandos nears, the excitement for the first chapter of the DCU — Gods and Monsters — grows among the masses.
During their conversation, Gunn and Lorey were asked about whose performance was the most surprising one for them. Lorey gushed over the character of GI Robot, played by Sean Gunn. On the other hand, James Gunn praised several actors’ performances, along with Alan Tudyk’s. However, in doing so, he made a character reveal.
Gunn disclosed that Alan Tudyk is also portraying Will Magnus, making it the third DC villain the actor is voicing in Creature Commandos. Gunn stated, “Alan Tudyk as Will Magnus — his performance is based on Mike Nichols, who he did a play with one time. There are just so many fun things in there.”
Earlier, Tudyk had revealed in an interview with Rotten Tomatoes that he is also playing a different version of Clayface in the animated show, aside from being Doctor Phosphorus. He asserted, “I get to play the same character two completely different ways, and I like them both.” (via SuperHeroHype)
The show is slated to premiere on December 5, 2024, on Max.
