Disney+ has officially replaced She-Hulk from their character banner for Marvel with one of the MCU’s latest debutants, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. The Merc with a Mouth only entered Marvel’s ever-expanding universe in 2024 through the immensely successful Deadpool & Wolverine. The movie also announced Marvel’s return to form after a prolonged patchy period. Deadpool’s increasing popularity now seems to have overshadowed Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, as the former recently replaced his on-screen colleague in Disney+’s MCU banner.
She-Hulk replaced by Deadpool on Disney+’s official Marvel homepage banner
In MCU’s latest streaming release, fans were quick to notice a significant alteration in Disney+’s banner for the franchise. Instead of Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk, the upper right corner of the poster surprisingly showcased Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.
The startling change closely follows the blockbuster foray of Deadpool & Wolverine into digital streaming. The 2024 hit recorded over 19.4 million views in its first six days on the platform, further increasing the character’s impact on the MCU.
In sharp contrast, the character of She-Hulk has experienced a much rougher start to life in the MCU. Despite garnering decent reviews from critics, the 2022 series was dubbed mediocre by most viewers. Fans condemned the show for its overly convoluted narrative. As such, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool replacing She-Hulk in Disney+’s banner may not have surprised many.
Such a modification last occurred in June 2023, as per The Direct. Back then, Nick Fury and She-Hulk served as the two new faces on the poster, replacing the outgoing Thor and Black Widow. After the latest alteration, the new Disney+ MCU banner roster features Shuri, Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi, Nick Fury, Sam Wilson, Scarlet Witch, Loki, Yelena, and the recently inducted Deadpool.
As far as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is concerned, Marvel has yet to sanction a second season or confirm the titular character’s involvement in any of their forthcoming projects.
