Red Hulk Returns in New Ongoing Marvel Comics Series

Red Hulk will return to comics just in time for his MCU debut in Captain America: Brave New World. What’s more, he will be headlining his own monthly comic. This will spin out of events in the current Incredible Hulk series and the upcoming One World Under Doom event.

The new Red Hulk series will be written by Benjamin Percy. The art will be provided by Geoff Shaw. Both creators have an established track record of working well together, having teamed on the Sabertooth War event in Wolverine. They also partnered on the Ghost Rider and Wolverine crossover Weapons of Vengeance.

How Red Hulk series ties into One World Under Doom

As Red Hulk #1 opens, General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross is imprisoned in Latveria. This is in response to his recent activities operating dangerous covert missions across the globe in the name of American national security. His only hope of escape is to become what he hates most, unleashing the rage of his alter ego.

“When I learned about the One World Under Doom event, my mind immediately went to Thunderbolt Ross,” Percy explained. “A global takeover would not be tolerated by a man who bleeds red, white, and blue (but especially Red). And his experience, as a soldier in the field, as a military strategist in the war room, as a walking weapon of mass destruction, would make him someone Doom would target well before he made his move.”

“To play in this gamma irradiated sand box has been a dream come true,” Shaw added. “Add Doctor Doom to the mix, arguably the Villain-of-all-villains, and artistically it’s an embarrassment of riches. We’re going to rock your red socks off!”

Red Hulk #1 arrives in comic shops everywhere on February 26, 2025.
