The Sinister Six have been a thorn in the side of Spider-Man for most of his crime-fighting career.
The team’s line-up has changed over the years, but their goal has remained the same: destroy Spider-Man at any cost. Now, a new Ultimate Sinister Six has been created for the Ultimate Universe, featuring familiar faces and some new ones as well.
The Ultimate Sinister Six will make their first appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man #9. Led by the Kingpin, Wilson Fisk, the new team will be targeting both Spider-Man and the heroic Green Goblin. The group’s line-up is revealed on both of the issue’s covers. The art is provided by Marco Checchetto and Luciano Vecchio.

Who is in the Ultimate Sinister Six?
Apart from the Kingpin, the team is made up of Mole Man, Black Cat, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, and Mister Negative. This line-up is notable for several reasons. Chief among them is the presence of only two of the original Earth-616 Sinister Six, Kraven and Mysterio. Mole Man also stands out, as he was originally a Fantastic Four villain.

Kingpin and Mister Negative are Spider-Man villains, but have never been affiliated with the team on Earth-616. However, Kingpin organized a similar group, the Insidious Six, in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series. Mister Negative was part of a Sinister Six in the 2018 Marvel’s Spider-Man video game.
The oddest inclusion is Black Cat, who appears to be a man rather than the familiar Felicia Hardy. It is possible this character is Walter Hardy, Felicia’s father. However, he was a cat burglar known as the Black Fox, in the Earth-616 universe. He also went by The Cat in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series. In any case, it is clear that he is not the feline femme fatale who once dated Peter Parker.
