Marvel Comics has dished on the upcoming second issue of its new Edge of Spider-Verse series launching in 2024.
Per Marvel, March’s Edge of Spider-Verse #2 introduces an all-new multiversal hero by the name of Spooky-Man. The publisher previously offered a glimpse at Spooky-Man on Mahmud Asrar’s variant cover for February’s Edge of Spider-Verse #1. The character’s debut story in issue #2 hails from writer Kaare Andrews and artist Bob Quinn. The sophomore issue also brings back Cyborg Spider-Man for a new story by Rich Douek and Edgar Salazar.

What to expect from Edge of Spider-Verse #2
Andrews and Quinn’s story takes readers to “Spider-High, the most dangerous high school on Earth! Gluemy Miller is the new kid, and things aren’t looking good for him making it through his first year there with the villainous teachers actually trying to kill him. On the bright side, he may have a shot with the cute cheerleader, but who is the mysterious and deadly Spooky-Man?!”
Meanwhile, the synopsis for Douek and Salazar’s Cyborg Spider-Man tale declares that the “coolest Spider-Suit from the ’90s has gone underused for too long.” Marvel implores readers not to miss “the most kick-ass Spider-Character’s star turn.”
Of course, Spooky-Man isn’t the only character making his debut in the next iteration of Edge of Spider-Verse. The new series’ debut issue introduces Weapon VIII, an X-Men-inspired Spider-Man variant created by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Travel Foreman. In the trio’s story, Weapon VIII is tasked with hunting down Weapon X, better known as Wolverine.
Furthermore, much like how Edge of Spider-Verse #2 features a backup story starring Cyborg Spider-Man, issue #1 brings back Spider-Byte following her big-screen debut in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse earlier this year. Margo Kess’ new adventure comes from writer Nilah Magruder and artist Eric Gapstur.
Edge of Spider-Verse #2 goes on sale March 27, 2024 from Marvel Comics.
